Entry 1 : Garden in motion

Have flowers in fashion ever truly faded? They remain eternal, yet the recent surge of bold floral expressions in fashion has been electrifying to witness. What began with slip dresses blooming with oversized prints has unfolded into a deeper vision, a desire to bring the garden into motion through handcraft. A high halter neck dress adorned with a flower motif may seem familiar, but reimagining it with sculptural dimension transforms it entirely. The hand dyed appliqué flower unfurls with depth, while the green loops and flowing fringe ripple with life. Together, they capture the rhythm of a garden in bloom, breathing movement into every step.

This design explores the translation of bold floral motifs into three dimensional handcrafted form. The base is a high halter neck crochet dress featuring a side placed flower motif. The motif is hand dyed and appliquéd, creating raised detailing that shifts the concept from print to sculpture. Green crochet loops and long fringe introduce motion and fluidity, echoing natural growth and movement. The result is a piece that brings the imagery of a garden to life in tactile, wearable form.
